Flex/AS3 Framework Poll Results
Here are the final results! Over 1,000 folks voted. As for Parsley being a late bloomer, it seems news spread throughout that community quickly via email/forums/blog/twitter on the last day. It wasn’t a result of someone getting friendly with the PollDaddy API.
Anyhow, this wasn’t intended as a popularity contest. Just a little community research to find out what’s out there. I’ll contrast these results with another poll in a few months. Thanks!

I don’t know, I think the results are realy biased… I didn’t voted…. but I don’t see it as being more used the cairngorm + puremvc + mate, no way.
It doesn’t have 400 users on forum….

Yeah, definitely not buying those results at all.
This isn’t the first poll Parsley has dominated, despite it being virtually unknown and unused in the community.
@Yea
Agreed…. at the time I vote it has less then half from other competitors…. the only explanation I saw is someone using a bot or something like that to tamper the poll. I do like the framework, but common, this result is way out of reality…
Do you have the votes per day? Probably parsley should had a peak voting in one day… if that is so, just remove that day results… I really wish to know the result of this pool…
Thanks for doing this research. I have to say the results are questionable. Your poll app may have been hacksnored.
I would like to know people who voted for Parsley (just curious if they exist). Nothing against Parsley but c’mon, I’ll eat all my pureMVC projects if that number reflects true (and trust me, they were a lot!)
I voted for Parsley, as did a lot of people I know working on big projects in London. We liked the framework code itself ( easy to extend, decorate ), its smart IoC and messaging using metatags, integration with Flex modules and other bonuses like external logging configuration, reflection, task framework, etc.
I used Cairngorm and PureMVC in the past and am very happy to know about Parsley now. In my opinion, while the former two are fine for small/medium sized applications, Parsley really brings a lot for big apps.
What I like as well is that Parsley does not force you to use any pattern ( like some framework force you to use tons of J2EE patterns ); Instead, you can implements any solution you like using the flexibility of the framework. You will still probably end up with Action/Commands, Controllers, Mediator/Presentation model, etc, but the implementation is yours.
That said, I see a lot of good frameworks in that list and I am not suggesting EVERYONE should use Parsley
I voted for Parsley as I’m using it regularly at present, that said, the results still surprise me.
I’ve posted on the SpiceFactory forum quite a bit and it seems to not have many active users most of the time, although it’s picking up.
I’d like Parsley to get more community support as I think it’s great, it’s just a bit difficult to get fast turn around on issues when it’s only being actively developed by one developer.
I think with early adoption in Cairngorm 3 and possibly Gravity, Parsley will grow in strength and popularity.
